Tenders and Templates

Every day thousands of RFI, RFQ’s are being sent electronically requesting to fill out pre-defined templates. Question is what the return is on the time invested to complete these. In reality the result is very poor.

These pre defined templates minimize any form of creativity and in what should be an important process for company’s to really get to know eachother and learn about their competitive advantage the risk is they become standardized forms without any personal and creative touch to them. In fact, by the time you finally meet your potential new customer, you probably are in a second round, where you were requested to lower your rates by X percent to be invited to the following round.

Both sender and receiver should think about what they really want to achieve by complying to this (except the lowest rates for the best service possible).
